Publisher of Children’s Magazines Award Maple Landmark Products
babyMaternity Magazine and Creative Child Magazine Honors New Teether and Mission 1 Space Set, Respectively
MIDDLEBURY, Vt.—Scooterbay Media of Henderson, Nevada, publishers of babyMaternity Magazine and Creative Child Magazine, have completed their annual product evaluations and granted Maple Landmark Woodcraft two top awards. The new infinity shaped teether in Schoolhouse Naturals brand line of Maple Landmark Woodcraft took special honors in the teether category while the newly debuted Mission 1 Space Block Set was chosen as the Toy of the Year in the wooden block category.
Over fifty guest reviewers including parents, educators, and a variety of child care professions, are invited to Henderson, Nevada by Scooterbay Media to review the hundreds of submitted products in dozens of categories for both babyMaternity and Creative Child Magazines. Using the “shot-gun start” approach, reviewers are asked to evaluate each product at every station/category. This approach allows for all products to get multiple reviews. The reviews included both written comments and scores based on specific product criteria. The scores and comments are then compiled for each category, and finalists are chosen. The finalists are then narrowed to one product per category can win a Toy of the Year award. The remaining finalists may receive special recognition, in the form of either the Preferred Choice award or the Seal of Excellence for exceeding the expectations of the category.
The Preferred Choice Award in the teether category for babyMaternity Magazine, went to the Infinity Shaped teether in the Schoolhouse Naturals product line of Maple Landmark. The Infinity teether, like all of Maple Landmark’s teethers are crafted from hardwood maple with no finishes. The Teether measures about 4" long, 2" wide and 3/4" thick and rounded and sanded silky smooth for the mouth and gums. The words “the possibilities are infinite” are engraved on one side of the teether.
The Mission 1 Space Set, chosen as Toy of the Year by Creative Child Magazine in the wooden block toys category, was introduced in the late winter of 2016. Crafted from locally sourced, sustainably harvested maple hardwood, this 20-piece set is perfect for a play day in space.
The 20 pieces, including 2 astronauts, a rocket ship and a 4 sided "countdown" block, 2 landscape blocks, 4 space modules, connect tubes, the earth and of course a rolling space vehicle. Each piece is 1" wide for stability and easy play for small hands. The colorful non-toxic graphics are kid-friendly and are printed on one side of each block. The other three sides can be decorated by the child themselves to create their own world. Each set comes in a reusable box for storage.
“We are pleased to have our products recognized by Scooterbay Media,” commented John Gallagher, Sales Manager. “Their review process is hands-on by the actual consumers—moms, educators and other professionals, so the reviews have more meaning to us and hopefully to the millions of people that read babyMaternity Magazine and Creative Child Magazine.”
