Middlebury, VT—Maple Landmark, the home of the NameTrains™ and Montgomery Schoolhouse, has for over 25 years made quality wooden toys for children that offer not only creative, open-ended play but also safe play. From taking special care in selecting the best lumber and then sanding edges smooth and using a variety of non-toxic finishes, Maple Landmark toys are second to none.
Always striving to give the consumer the very best, Maple Landmark has introduced three new natural products to their Montgomery Schoolhouse lines. Highlighting the additions are two new natural baby rattles. These rattles are the first new rattles from Montgomery Schoolhouse in over 10 years. Crafted from FSC© (Forest Stewardship Council) certified lumber, both rattles measure 2-1/2" long and 1-1/2" X 2-1/2" oval and are shrink wrapped for shipping.
The Natural Oval Bell Rattle is crafted from hardwood with the bell freely enclosed to give maximum movement and sound. The cage design is also perfect for little fingers to explore and light enough for babies to lift and manipulate.
The new Natural Oval Bead Rattle has one bead on each of the cage pegs to give movement and sound to this new natural rattle. Both of these rattles are finished with an all-natural beeswax finish to protect the wood from baby drool!
The third new natural addition to the Montgomery Schoolhouse line is the Natural My Train Set. This 3-car set is modeled after the classic MY Train Collection. The set has an Engine, a tender and a caboose. The cars connect with string and each car measures about 6-1/2" long and is crafted from pine. The cars are finished with a clear polyurethane finish that allows all of the beauty of the natural wood grain to show through. The Natural My Train Set is perfect for children ages 3 and up.
"We have tried to respond to the consumers desire to truly know what is in or on the products that they purchase for children, to develop products that are crafted with certified lumber, and finished in an environmental and kid-friendly way," states Mike Rainville, owner of Maple Landmark. "Unlike many imported products manufacturers, we take our responsibility to provide safe and environmentally sustainable products very seriously. We believe parents have a right to know exactly what the toys they purchase are made of. We are proud to offer products created from sustainably harvested domestic wood. Toys are supposed to be safe for the children and many times consumers don't really know what the toys are made of." The regulations on chemicals and toxins are not equal from country to country, nor are they always followed, creating a potentially scary situation for consumers.
These new natural products join the FSC© Natural Classics released in January, 2005, and the traditional maple building blocks that have been a staple for toddlers for decades.
