Maple Landmark Changes Up Award Winning Teach ’N’ Play Product Line.
Spanish Language Added to the Product Offerings.
Middlebury, VT—Maple Landmark Woodcraft’s Teach ‘n’ Play tiles have been re-envisioned for the 2016 Back to School Season. The tiles were resized—making them easier for little hands to manipulate—and Spanish/English tiles were added to the collection.
Teach ‘n’ Play Tiles blend fun graphics with conceptual thinking. The tiles now come in four themed sets—shapes & colors, numbers & fractions, animal & vegetable, and Spanish & English. Three original sets can be used for matching and sorting, comparing and contrasting, sequencing and ordering, and counting and adding. The utilization of the tiles can grow with children.
The new Spanish/English Set includes four tiles each of six themes—family, vehicles, space, animals, things, and buildings. The Spanish words, with the proper articles, are on the top of the tile, images for the word in the middle, and the English at the bottom. The Spanish Set was created in conjunction with the Spanish students at Ashford School in Connecticut and their teacher Ms. Julia Rhubin. “The students were excited to participate in this project with Maple Landmark. It helps them to know that what they are learning has value even at a beginner level,” said Ms. Rhubin. The Spanish/English tiles focuses on nouns and if the set does well Maple Landmark is prepared to include adjectives and verbs in the next release.
All of the tiles have been resized down to measure 2-1/4" square and are cut from 1/8" hardwood plywood. This newer smaller and lighter size works better for little hands. The graphics are printed with bright, kid-friendly non-toxic inks on both sides of the 12 tiles. Tips and suggestions for using the tiles are included in the shrink wrapped package as is a cloth pouch for storage after use.
