Middlebury, VT—Creative Child Magazine has chosen "My Best Blocks" as the 2005 recipient of the Toy of the Year Award in Builder/Construction Toys for Preschoolers category. "My Best Blocks" are produced under the Montgomery Schoolhouse name by Maple Landmark.
Creative Child Magazine focuses its attention on the development of children's right brain skills. Music, art, drama, and creativity are just a few of the things that Creative Child Magazine helps parents encourage and develop within their children from infant to teenager. Again, for this upcoming holiday season, Creative Child Magazine sought to find the best toys, games and other activities that help stretch the imagination, foster creativity and be entertaining to children.
The "My Best Blocks" fit the bill perfectly by facilitating open-ended play and endless creative avenues. Each block set even comes with an outline to help guide parents to learn how to "play" and develop their child's creativity. These blocks are guaranteed for life and most assuredly will be a family heirloom for years to come.
Each block is carefully crafted from hard maple and are sanded to create smooth and gently rounded edges. The blocks are based on a 1" X 2" X 4" scale and 3 different size/mix sets are available. The Junior Builder set comes with 41 pieces in 11 different shapes. The Advanced Builder set has 78 pieces with 17 different shapes and the Master Builder set contains 104 pieces with 21 unique shapes. Shapes include squares, triangles, rectangles as well as arches, cylinders and half moons.
